Lend Me A Tenor

Lend Me A Tenor at Music Box Theater

Why see Lend Me A Tenor?

On the biggest night in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, world-famous tenor Tito Morelli is to perform Otello, his greatest role.

Through a hilarious series of mishaps, Tito is given a double dose of tranquilizers, causing his pulse to drop so low that the opera house manager believes him to be dead. The comic plot builds from there.

Because he is presumed dead, the renowned opera singer "Il Stupendo" cannot go on, so an understudy prepares to play the part. Presiding over the door-slamming chaos is director Stanley Tucci; Anthony LaPaglia and Tony Shalhoub star.

Laugh Out Loud Hilarious

Lend Me A Tenor is a laugh-out-loud production. The cast and story both are very entertaining, you are on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. It is action packed and hilarious. It is worth seeing again, which I am going to do. The only problem was where we were sitting. Mezzanine level, row B, seats 25 & 27. The L Box seats blocked our view of the left hand side of the stage and there was quite a bit of action that took place there that we missed. Other than that the view from the Mezzanine level was outstanding as was the accoustics. If you are planning a trip to NYC, make plans to see Lend Me A Tenor! Just stay away from the last 2 seats in rows B, C, D and so forth. ... Read more
