Tony Winning Trio Unite For Art

Tony winners James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris, and Bobby Cannavale are back on Broadway in this exciting new production of Yasmina Reza's blockbuster satire on modern art and critical snobbery. Directed by Scott Ellis and using Christopher Hampton's celebrated translation, Art marks Corden's first Broadway foray since 2012, and a welcome return for Great White Way mainstays Harris and Cannavale. Don't miss this powerhouse trio as they star as three friends whose relationship is tested when one of them buys a controversial piece of art.

Last seen on Broadway in One Man, Two Guvnors, Late Late Show host Corden is no stranger to the stage, originating roles in 'Guvnors, The History Boys, and more. Cannavale was recently seen in Here We Are, the unfinished Sondheim Musical, and Neil Patrick Harris is one of theatre's most recognizable faces, debuting on Broadway in 2002's Proof, and going on to win a Tony for his unforgettable performance in 2014's Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

What Is The Story Of Art?

Art was originally a French-language play, premiering in 1994 in Paris. Translated into English by Christopher Hampton, it premiered in London two years later, starring stage and screen legends Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay, and Ken Stott as the three divided friends and ran for eight years.

Serge, Marc, and Yvan are three middle-aged friends at varying stages of success in their lives. When the prosperous Serge buys a ludicrously expensive painting comprising white stripes on a white canvas, he is disappointed to learn that his friend Marc is less than impressed. Disdainful of the piece, Marc's scorn threatens their 15-year relationship, while Yvan tries to play peacemaker. Unfortunately, this only serves to blow things into a bigger problem than before.
