Manhattan Theatre Club presents the latest work from Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning playwright John Patrick Stanley. The company previously staged the New York premieres of Stanley's Doubt: A Parable and Outside Mullingar, the former of which won four Tony Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and was adapted into an Oscar-nominated movie starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seyour Hoffman
Prodigal Son follows the fortunes of a talented but troubled teenager from the Bronx who begins at a private school on Manhattan. Two faculty members must try their hardest to help realize his tremendous potential while stopping him from hitting the self-destruct button. An intense and complex piece, Prodigal Son stars Tony winner Robert Sean Leonard (The Invention of Love) and Chris McGarry (Lawless).
