One of the brightest acting exports Wales has seen since the days of icon Richard Burton himself, Emmy Award winner Matthew Rhys makes his Lincoln Center Theater debut in Playing Burton following its acclaimed premiere with Welsh National Theatre. Mark Jenkins’s one-man play arrives in New York under the direction of Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher.

About Matthew Rhys

A graduate of RADA, Matthew Rhys first gained attention in BBC dramas before achieving international acclaim as Philip Jennings in FX's The Americans - a role that earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor and multiple Golden Globe nominations. Rhys has since starred in Brothers & Sisters, The Post, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and HBO's Perry Mason, where he received further Emmy and Critics' Choice nominations.
