On New Year's Eve 2026, Puccini's jaw-dropping drama of the Wild West returns in a new staging by British director Richard Jones, marking the company's first new production of La Fanciulla del West in more than 30 years! This major revival welcomes Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky in her role debut as Minnie, the larger-than-life tavern owner with a heart of gold who finds love when she least expects it, and is joined by tenor SeokJong Baek appears as bandit Dick Johnson.
Based on The Girl Of The Golden West by American playwright David Belasco, the adventure is set during the Gold Rush of the mid 1800s. Puccini evokes the scope of the Californian landscape with sweeping orchestral arrangements, where gun-slinging heroine Minnie enters into a whirlwind forbidden romance with local outlaw Dick Johnson, an explosive love that angers the local miners and lands them in a whole lot of hot water.
