Cry Baby

Cry Baby at Marquis Theater

Why see Cry Baby?

When a boy from the wrong side of the tracks meets a girl from the right one, musical mayhem ensues.

Baltimore, 1954. Everyone likes Ike, nobody likes communism and Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker is the baddest boy in town. He's a rebel with a cause - truth, justice and the pursuit of rock 'n' roll - and when he falls for a good girl, his square little suburb rocks around the clock. Based on the Universal Pictures film written and directed by John Waters.

Don't miss this show!

The name may not be as well known as other productions, but it should be! A wonderful ensemble cast performs one of the best scripts ever written for a musical comedy. The musical numbers were a blast. Some you just have to see to believe (a monkey on a pedestal?), but 6 months after the show I still am laughing! We met a few of the cast at the stage door after the show, what a nice group of people, all saying they are having a great time doing this show. It is one of the smartest shows I have ever seen, even though it is very silly. There is no intermission, and the ushers told us this before curtain, which was much appreciated. I would see this again in a minute! It is definitely "Lovely in the end"! ... Read more
