The comedian tackles his battles with depression in this darkly funny new show
Following its debut at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, comedian Chris Gethard's new stand-up show lands Off-Broadway. Career Suicide is a bleakly funny dive into Gethard's battles with depression, examining his darkest moments with levity and complete honesty. Drawing acclaim in Edinburgh, it brings Gethard's incisiveness comedy out of the underground and onto the big stage!
The show is brought to the Lynn Redgrave Theater by uber-producer Judd Apatow, while Kimberly Senior, who helmed the Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced in 2013 at the Lincoln Center, directs.
A graduate of Manhattan's famous UCB stand-up troupe (which also gave us Amy Poehler, Nick Kroll and Ben Schwartz) Gethard now has a podcast to his name (Beautiful/Anonymous) and an eponymous TV series on Fusion, a free form talk show packed with skits, phone-ins and guests where literally anything can happen. He's also made numerous appearances in shows like Parks and Recreation and the movies Iron Man 3 and Don't Think Twice.
