Originally opening on Broadway in 1966, The Apple Tree is a delightful little musical, formed of three separate stories linked together by theme. The trilogy of stories draw their inspiration from works by Mark Twain, Frank R. Stockton and Jules Feiffer, with the music and lyrics coming courtesy of Tony-and Pulitzer Prize-winning duo Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello!).
Presented by Obio-winning company Musical Tonight!, The Apple Tree is an atypical musical that has been off the New York stage for too long. Among the numbers in its score are 'Friends', 'I'll tell You the Truth' and 'Oh, to be a Movie Star'.
