Entertaining and insightful, the play echos timeless sentiments that are part of the bedrock of the country, and that resonate particularly now in this politic city.

A Pulitzer prize-winning classic returns to NYC!
Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Wendy Wasserstein's incisive political comedy An American Daughter remains as relevant as ever, and now returns to New York in its first major revival, directed by Sarna Lapine. Presented by La Femme Theatre Productions at The Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center, this acclaimed play examines the impossible standards imposed on successful women and the price of life in the spotlight.
Originally premiering in 1996, An American Daughter follows an accomplished woman whose nomination for a prestigious public role appears all but certain - until a seemingly insignificant personal mistake spirals into a media storm that threatens both her career and reputation.
Please note: The producers can't guarantee the appearance of any performers on any specific date.
