Touching one-man play on Capote comes Off Broadway this March
Tony Award winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) stars in this fascinating new one-man play, premiering at House of the Redeemer's Library space this March. Diving into one of the most turbulent periods of celebrated author Truman Capote's life, TRU utilises immersive elements in an intimate, funny and heartfelt exploration of an American icon.
He was one of the greatest literary voices in American history. But Truman Capote was barely holding himself together. In the depths of winter in 1975, Capote has suffered a personal disaster - one that has left him virtually friendless and without the respect he'd spent years building. With his back against the wall and spiralling further into despair, Capote takes a deep examination of himself. Using Capote's own writings as a basis for the script, TRU provides an intimate setting within the mind of a genius.
