Victoria Lynne Barclay's Camping premiers Off-Broadway
Camping by Victoria Lynne Barclay is a queer romance story making its world premiere run Off-Broadway at HERE Arts Center. Starring Alice Kremelberg (Renegade Nell) and Colby Minifie (The Boys), the decades-spanning tale is directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, previous winner of the Lucille Lortel Visionary Award. Love, chaos and an unbreaking bound that binds collide in this unmissable new work!
A visceral play centered around an emotionally volatile love story, Camping follows best-friends-turned-complicated-lovers Brit and Ari, over the course of three decades. Taking place in the confined space of a camping tent, the pair repeatedly collide, reconnect, and ebb and flow towards and away from eachother. It’s complicated, it’s claustrophobic, but it’s an intense connection that persists no matter the emotional fractures, the time and distance between them, or the chaos of the world outside.
