Celebrate All Things Soca At The Hammerstein Ballroom In New York
I Love Soca is back with just as much dancing, excitement and summer cheer as its had over the previous ten years. The annual New York based event is all about soca music, which comprises of party music originating from Trinidad and Tobago.
On the night, Trinidadian soca star Machel Montano will perform, his career kicked off after he was the youngest ever finalist to win the Caribbean Song Festival in 1987. Montano is a notable figure of the genre, and is most known for his energetic and lively performances.
He will be joined by Rupee, a soca artist from Barbados who has performed in his home country as well as in Toronto, Miami, Boston and New York. Rupees 2004 hit, Tempted To Touch propelled the artist into becoming a well known Caribbean musician and is still just as popular on dancefloors worldwide today as it was when it was first released.
