What's les mis about?

Jean Valjean is an ex-convict struggling to make his way in the world after being unjustly imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. An act of kindness from a local priest sets him on a new course as he turns his life around. Flash forward 17 years and Paris is in disarray, the rich ruling class treating the working class with malcontent that none deserve. Tensions reach a tipping point and multiple stories come to a head in the epic musical.

Thank you for putting on such a great show PS--a minor complaint though--the seats are uncomfortable and the drinks were way too expensive. Just a side note for the business side of things.. :) ...
