Why see Company?
Like in John Doyle's acclaimed production of Sweeney Todd, Company's actors double as musicians, providing the score for the entire show while also acting and singing their parts. The original Broadway production, which opened at New York's Alvin Theatre in 1970, was honored with the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical as well as six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. This version is being transferred, cast intact, after a critically lauded run at Cincinatti Playhouse in the Park.
