Why see The Addams Family?

When You're An Addams...

The Addams Family are back, taking their mysterious and spooky lives on tour across the United States to share their story with the nation. After the Tony-nominated musical's premiere in Chicago in 2009, it moved on to Broadway and then the international stage. The Addams Family features a brand new story, with a book written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. Maybe after you'll join Morticia and Gomez in their avowed thrice weekly tangos!

What's It About?

A shock rocks the Addams family as Wednesday brings home her new boyfriend, the entirely normal Lucas, and his family to the Addams family dinner. How will the creepy and kooky clan take it as they get trapped by a mysterious storm? Truth serums, undead relatives and chaos ensue as both families struggle to come to terms with the new change in their lives, and the underlying issues that resurface.

Went to see “The Addams Family” on 31 August. Just loved it! We have been to lots of London West End shows and this is up there with the best. ... Read more

The Definition Of Entertainment

My wife and I were privileged enough to be at the Thursday March 11th performance. As a late bloomer to the theatre scene, of course one of my necessary quests is to see Nathan Lane in ANYTHING, but to have him star in the cast of my favorite boyhood TV show was overwhelming. The entire cast was brilliant, the songs ripe and humorous. And BeBe as Morticia rekindled those old feelings I once had for Carolyn Jones..she is a show stealer. I must also add that the audience was a major part of the excitement. It was the best audience I have ever been in-everyone shared it all together. The chemistry of the actors feeding off the crowd and the crowd digging the play was wonderful. There was a standing ovation for them at the end. Sure it was a compliment, but it just seemed necessary as repayment for the enjoyment they had just provided. ... Read more

So much fun

You can't pass this one up! I don't have the luxury to go to many Broadway shows but I am so glad I got to see this musical. A modern twist to a blast from the past. The characters are entertaining, engaging, and amazing in their portrayals. At numerous times throughout the performance, the audience broke into thunderous applaus. Prior to the play, I couldn't see Nathan Lane as Gomez but he was awesome. Grandmama was hysterical! Throughout the day I recalled some of her wisecracks and laughed out loud! I have to say, all the characters were talented, strong and brought their own uniqueness to the stage. The special effects and stage designs were impressive. You can easily see the stage from any of the seats in the theater. A play for everyone. Great family event, date night, girls night out, you'll have a blast. ... Read more
