The Bolshoi Ballet: Don Quixote

A spectacular staging of Cervantes' classic tale
Why see The Bolshoi Ballet: Don Quixote?
The literal translation of Bolshoi is 'great' or 'grand'. It aptly describes the work of Bolshoi Ballet company, one of the most revered companies in the world, who are famed for their lavish, vibrant productions. As part of the Lincoln Center Festival, they're performing a two week long engagement of some of the greatest ballets ever created, including Don Quixote. Based on Cervantes legendary novel, the work has an intimate connection with the company, as it received its world premiere at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1869. It was originally adapted by Marius Petipa, with music being supplied by Ludwig Minkus.
