Paul Taylor American Modern Dance

Paul Taylor American Modern Dance at David H Koch Theater

Why see Paul Taylor American Modern Dance?

Paul Taylor's Legacy Dances On

The groundbreaking Paul Taylor Dance Company bade a fond farewell to its founder and namesake in 2018, after his passing at age 88. For over six decades, Taylor bought a capacity for joy, poetic imagination and a sense of lyrical ,musicality to the genre, channelling this energy into one of the world's most celebrated ensembles. His spirit and legacy lives on during the return of the annual Paul Taylor American Modern Dance Season at the David H. Koch Theatre this fall.

Curated by the company's new artistic director Michael Novak, the tribute season includes 19 of Taylor's acclaimed masterworks, newly commissioned works by guest resident choreographers Margie Gillis and Pam Tanowitz and a world premiere piece by a Kyle Abraham, a rising choreographer commissioned by Taylor himself.
