New York City Ballet - Masters at Work I

Glorious performances of works of NYC Ballet co-founders
Why see New York City Ballet - Masters at Work I?
Balanchine and Robbins
New York City Ballet brings together two George Balanchine ballet classics as well as Jerome Robbins' comical The Concert, to form a program celebrating these two co-founding choreographers of the company! The program features Balanchine's magnificent La Source and The Four Temperaments, while Robbins' work brings the art of comedy into the high art of ballet.
George Balanchine's La Source, set to the music of Leo Delibes, takes a Francophone theme and is virtuosic both in choreography and the feats of the performers involved. Meanwhile, in The Four Temperaments Balanchine works to the composition he commissioned from Paul Hindeman. Finally, Robbins' The Concert (Or, The Perils of Everybody) is a comical portrayal of the audience members at a recital of the music of Chopin. An unmissable program!
