New York City Ballet - Eclectic I at David H Koch Theater

Why see New York City Ballet - Eclectic I?

Balanchine, Ratmansky and Wheeldon

New York City Ballet showcases an eclectic program celebrating the wide variety of atmospheres featured within the company's repertoire, putting the artform's ability to run the gamut of emotions on show for all to see. The program features the work of George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon and Alexei Ratmansky, three choreographers whose contribution to ballet truly is second to none.

Featured is Balanchine's magnificent Bourree Fantasque, fusing comedy and energy with a charming French score. Alexei Ratmansky's Solitude, set to the music of Mahler, takes a sombre tone, exploring through movement grief in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine War. Wheeldon's Contiuum takes audiences through shifting emotions, set to a piano score by Gyorgy Litegi. A sumptuous program not to miss.
