A very special 50th anniversary performance
In a world first, the Lincoln Center Festival brings together three of ballet's most sought-after companies for this exceptional 50th-anniversary celebration of George Balanchine's landmark triptych, back on the stage where it premiered in 1967. The Paris Opera Ballet takes the reigns with the ethereal forest landscape of Emeralds, with the New York City Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet taking it in turns to present the jazz-infused firecracker Rubies and Diamonds, the tribute to the Imperial Russian era.
Vividly different and a spectacular display of virtuosity, Jewels is a breathtaking work of art, inspiring and captivating as it moves through three worlds with illuminating wonder to music from Faure, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky.
