Every year Theatre Breaking Through Barriers, a theatre company committed to "advancing actors and writers with disabilities", holds a festival of short plays. This year heralds their finest line up yet, with the five commissioned playwrights having won a Tony, an Olivier and a Peabody Award between them. Among them is Neil LaBute, long the enfant terrible of American contemporary theatre, best known for controversy stirring works In the Company of Men and Fat Pig.
LaBute's contribution to Power Plays is entitled I Dare You, and centres around an accusation of infidelity which draws an expected response. The other four playwrights are Bekah Brunstetter (Oohrah!), Bruce Graham (Any Given Monday), John Guare (Six Degrees of Seperation) and David Henry Hwang (Kung Fu).
