Both written by the late James McLure (Wild Oats), Laundry and Bourbon and Lonestar are two one act plays which revolve around macho Roy's arrival back in his small Texas hometown. He's returning after a stint in Vietnam, and discovers that a lot has changed in his absence. Lone Star finds Roy reminiscing about the old days with his brother in a bar, while Laundry and Bourbon switches its focus to Roy's wife Elizabeth, as she talks over her husband's less than happy return with her friend Hattie.

Directed by Cynthia Hestand, these two pieces make for a bruised and drink-soaked portrait 70s-era small town America and the pervasive influence of the Vietnam War. The cast of this Contemporary Theatre of Dallas production includes Joey Oglesby (Fruitvale Station, Friday Night Lights).
