Written in 1887 by acclaimed playright Anton Chekhov, Ivanov is often referred to as 'the Russian Hamlet' and is producted by the Classic Stage Company as part of their Chekhov Cycle, which also included two other prominent works, Three Sisters and Uncle Vanya.

Tony Award nominee and film actor Ethan Hawke stars in the title role as a debt-ridden government official who is a bundle of dissatisfaction. Joely Richardson (Side Effects) plays Anna, his ill Jewish wife who renounced her family for Ivanov.
