Gilded Age and Broadway stars appear with New York Pops
Across its three (soon to be four) seasons, HBO's The Gilded Age, despite not being a musical show, has a cast list which is absolutely packed with Broadway talent. Two of those stars, Denee Benton (Peggy) and Jordan Donica (Dr. William Kirkland) appear for a special, one-night-only performance with the New York Pops this fall! Under the baton of conductor Steven Reineke, the pair perform the music that has defined their respective careers, as well as some classics from the Great American Songbook.
Tony-nominee Denee Benton first came to prominence with her starring role as Natasha Rostova in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 on Broadway. This was soon followed by star turns in Hamilton and Into The Woods, before joining the cast of HBO's historical drama The Gilded Age, in which she has been nominated for a Critic's Choice and Screen Actor's Guild Award. With her warm soprano she's known for hitting the high notes completely effortlessly, with a clarity that few can match.
Jordan found himself thrust into the limelight in 2016 when he appeared as a replacement in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway in the role of Raoul. That kicked off a career that has seen him become a regular on the Great White Way, earning a Tony nomination for his appearance in Camelot and further turns in Phantom, including a spot in the show's 40th anniversary cast.
