As if mocking his disability, Tsujii plays with an extraordinarily precise touch and sonic definition.

Sensational blind pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii
Prepare to be swept off your feet by the extraordinary talent of Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii. Hailed as "the definition of virtuosity" (The Observer), Tsujii's music speaks volumes. Blind from birth, he has broken barriers and won hearts worldwide since earning the joint Gold Medal at the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009.
Tsujii - or 'Nobu' - is a true phenom, having performed with many of the world's top orchestras and earning great critical acclaim in the process for his dramatic playing. His incredible ability to feel the music can be truly appreciated when considering that, when once asked how he performs to a conductor he cannot see, his response was that he simply listens for the conductor's breath. And yet, astonishingly, when interviewed after a performance at the BBC Proms, conductor Domingo Hindoyan revealed that he doesn't have to change a single aspect of his own performance when working with Nobu.
