A Georgian Night: A Celebration Of The 100th Anniversary Of Georgia

Why see A Georgian Night: A Celebration Of The 100th Anniversary Of Georgia?

Centennial celebrations

Formed in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, the Republic of Georgia declared it independence in 1918. Invaded three years later by the Red Army, the country finally restored its independence in 1991. To celebrate Georgia's 100th Anniversary, a host of its foremost musical artists will be lighting up the Carnegie Hall stage this July.

On the bill are Nino Machaidze (soprano), George Gagnidze (baritone), Elisso Bolkvadze (piano) and Shalva Mukeria (tenor), with more names to be announced. Expect a night of traditional Georgian song and more contemporary pieces.
