Little Bear Ridge Road

Little Bear Ridge Road at Booth Theater

Why see Little Bear Ridge Road?

Broadway Debut

Little Bear Ridge Road marks a Broadway debut for playwright Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale), reuniting him with award winning director Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Assassin) following the play's premiere at Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago! Returning to their roles from the Steppenwolf production are Laurie Metcalf, Micah Stock, John Drea, and Meighan Gerachis, while the production also marks the return of producer Scott Rudin, in his first Broadway credit since stepping away from the industry in 2021.

What's It About?

Set in rural Idaho, Little Bear Ridge Road follows the uneasy reunion of estranged aunt Sarah and her nephew Ethan. Brought together by the death of a family patriarch, the stage is set for an emotional exploration of generational disconnect. Grounded and poetic, this new American play continues Hunter's exploration of life in the inland Northwest, showing the unexpected grace in overlooked places.
