Why see The Refuge Plays?

The power of home and family.

Continuing on with their incredible season, the Roundabout Theatre Company will be home to The Refuge Plays this fall! The play is written by Nathan Alan Davis, an award-winning playwright who has written other plays such as The Wind and The Breeze' and Origin Story'. Taking the directorial helm is the Artistic Director of New York Theatre Workshop, Patricia McGregor. The cast includes Jerome Preston Bates and award-winner Ngozi Anyanwu. An incredible story of a Black family throughout time, catch it while you can!

What's it about?

Late at night in the Illinois woods, the head of the household Gail is approached by the ghost of her husband with the foreboding message that she will die sometime within the next 24 hours. Throughout the three-part play we are transported through time and explore the generations that came before her.
