Hollywood mega-star Julia Roberts makes her Broadway debut in a revival of Richard Greenberg's Three Days of Rain. The production, directed by Joe Mantello, brings together Roberts with Bradley Cooper and Paul Rudd at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

Set in New York, Three Days of Rain centers on a brother Walker (Paul Rudd), his sister (Julia Roberts) and their childhood friend Pip (Bradley Cooper) who meet to settle their parents' estate. The two fathers were long-time friends and partners in architecture; their legacy is the brilliantly daring creation, the 1960's Janeway House. But whose was the guiding hand? In this tense and brittle reunion, much more is at stake than who gets the house.  

Brother and sister discover their father's bland, sparse diary, and use it to create a story for themselves that will explain away the present and make sense of their parent's passionless marriage. Over the "three days of rain" entered in the young architect's diary, the same three actors then play their own parents and reveal a romantic significance and creative dilemma that none of these children could ever have imagined.

The first act introduces the audience to Walker and Nan, brother and sister, and best friend Pip, with whom they grew up. The trio attend the reading of the sibling's father's will. Act two is set thirty years past. It explores the relationship between Ned and Theo, fledgling architects, and Theo's girlfriend Lina, and seeks to answer questions raised in the first act

Three Days of Rain had its world premiere at Costa Mesa's South Coast Rep in 1997 and first New York City production at the Manhattan Theatre Club the same year. Probably the most significant staging was in 1999 at London's Donmar Warehouse. Robin Lefevre directed Colin Firth (Walker & Ned), Elizabeth McGovern (Nan & Lina) and David Morrissey (Pip & Theo)

Three Days had a few very nice runs over the next couple of years, playing major venues in San Diego, San Jose, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Hartford, among others, including a Joanne Woodward directed production at the Westport Country Playhouse. Strangely, after all the acclaim, nothing was heard about the play after 2001. Apparently, every group that wanted to stage it already had. Except a Broadway producer, that is

Bradley Cooper is currently starring in the Fox series Kitchen Confidential, which returns from a brief hiatus on December 4. He also had major roles in The Street, Alias and Jack & Bobby. His film credits include The Wedding Crashers, Changing Lanes, My Little Eye, Carnival Knowledge, Wet Hot American Summer and the upcoming Failure to Launch. Cooper graduated from Georgetown University and the Masters of Fine Arts program at the Actors Studio Drama School at New York University.

Paul Rudd has appeared on Broadway in Twelfth Night and The Last Night of Ballyhoo. His other theatrical credits include Ancestral Voices at the Westport Country Playhouse, Long Days Journey into Night in London, Bash in both New York and Los Angeles and The Shape of Things in New York and London. For the final two seasons of Friends, he played the love interest of Lisa Kudrow's Phoebe. His film credits include The 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman, P.S., The Chateau, Wet Hot American Summer, The Shape of Things, The Cider House Rules, The Object of My Affection, Clueless and William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet.
