Lisa D'Apolita's Love, Gilda opens the 17th annual Tribeca Film Festival in 2018. This documentary is a profile of Gilda Radner, the star of stage and screen who blazed a trail for female comedians in the 1970s. One of SNL's original cast, alongside John Belushi and Chevy Chase, Radner would go onto perform a wildly successful one woman show on Broadway, that was subsequently filmed for cinema screens by Mike Nichols.
Expertly cutting together archival footage, audiotapes and interviews with the likes of Bill Hader, Chevy Chase, Amy Poehler, and Lorne Michaels, Love, Gilda is a loving portrait of a true comedy icon.
