The Flick

"Annie Baker's exquisite play, acted by a perfect cast, won my heart. One of the freshest and most talented dramatists to emerge in the past decade."

Why see The Flick?
Now Extended Until January 2016
A run-down movie theater is the setting for Annie Baker's expertly understated comedy, which paints a subtle portrait of three twenty-somethings meandering through their existence. First premiering Off-Broadway in 2013 at Playwright's Horizons, the play was received with universal acclaim from the critics and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in the following year.
The slowly unfolding drama centers on three young cinema ushers, whose existential musings and witty repartee stands as stark contrast to the awful movies up on the screen. Returning from the Playwright's Horizons production is Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold (Fun Home), while the four person cast is comprised of Matthew Maher (Golden Child),Kyle Beltran, Brian Miskell and Nicole Rodenburg.
