Playwright in Residence Amy Staats' New Work

As part of its brand new 2018/19 season of bold voices in theatre and their boundary-pushing, inspiring new works, prestigious Off-Broadway institution Atlantic Theater Company presents the world premiere of Eddie and Dave. Written by and featuring ATC Tow Playwright in Residence Amy Staats, the production will be helmed by up and coming Brooklyn-based director Margot Bordelon.

Eddie and Dave chronicles the riotous rise and icarus-like fall of 80s rockstars in Pasadena, as told from the perspective of a lonely, unemployed MTV-VJ. This gender-bending comedic rollercoaster blends themes of pride, family, friendship, fame and the pitfalls of being a musical genius for a rollicking, yet moving ride through the the decade of decadence.
