Tony Winner Stars

Having come off a Tony Award-winning turn in Ragtime, Joshua Henry has co-created, co-written, and also stars in, the soul and R&B tinged romance musical The Conversation. Also starring and co-written by former Hamilton star Julia Harriman, the intimate Off-Broadway production features a book by Nick Green and is directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (Hairspray Live; A Raisin In The Sun). With a score that its two leads co-wrote blending modern pop and soul, The Conversation explores the nuances of modern romance, both heartwarming and harrowing. An unmissable musical!

What Is It About?

Marcus and Elle knew the intoxicating feeling of falling in love, and the trajectory from first date, to moving in, to planning their dream life together came very easily. But when that initial thrill settles into routine and the honeymoon period is over, is when it actually gets serious. The hard choices and compromises it takes to stay together are what The Conversation covers, providing an unflinching look at commitment in soulful musical form.
