Daniel Radcliffe To Star In Every Brilliant Thing
The Harry Potter Star Returns To Broadway!
Broadway is set to welcome a powerful new production as Every Brilliant Thing makes its debut next year, led by Tony Award winner Daniel Radcliffe.
Written by Duncan Macmillan in collaboration with Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing is a poignant one-man show that delves into themes of mental health, depression, and the enduring bonds of family. Directed by Jeremy Herrin and Macmillan himself, the play offers a unique theatrical experience, one that Radcliffe, best known for his iconic role as Harry Potter, is poised to bring to life with depth and charisma.
"Every Brilliant Thing tackles some serious subject matter," Macmillan shared, "but the overall experience is one of joy and celebration."
Unlike traditional productions, this play invites audience members to participate directly, making each performance a singular and unpredictable event. With only one actor on stage, the audience becomes an essential part of the storytelling.
Speaking about Radcliffe's casting, Macmillan added, "He has the intelligence, quick wit, and charm to roll with the spontaneous moments that the show inviteshe can be a clown one moment, then grab you by the heartstrings the next. He has huge depth and humanity. I can't wait to get started."
Every Brilliant Thing will run at the Hudson Theatre from 21 February to 24 May 2026.
What is the plot?
This one man show is centered around one very simple idea. A child whose mother is recovering from a suicide attempt compiles a list of things that make life worth living. At his young age this includes ice cream and rollercoasters, but as she grows older, she keeps updating the list, taking note of the simple and sometimes seemingly banal things which give her joy. It explores themes of mental health, resilience, and love with humour and emotional depth.
