The Grey's Anatomy and Killing Eve star takes on a speaking role in the Met's La Fille du Régiment

Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award-winning actor Sandra Oh adds another string to her bow as she sets her Metropolitan Opera debut in the company's upcoming revival of Gaetano Donizetti's enduring comic opera!

Grey's Anatomy and Killing Eve star Oh will play the Duchess of Krakenthorp, a speaking role, in performances from October 17 through November 12 at the Met Opera House. No stranger to the stage, Oh has recently been delighting audiences in Shakespeare In The Park's Twelfth Night as the countess Olivia, opposite Khris Davis as Count Orsino, Peter Dinklage as Malvolio, Jessie Tyler Ferguson as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Lupita Nyong'o as Viola.

What is The Story?

Laurent Pelly's version sees the tale transported to the trenches of WWII, where Donizetti's gung-ho military marches, frothy comic numbers, and shimmering arias punctuate the story of heroine Marie. Orphaned at a young age and raised by a tan army regiment, the feisty Marie has become their mascot, raising morale and spreading cheer. Yet things get complicated when her true identity is discovered and the first stirrings of love flutter in her heart thanks to the handsome soldier Tonio.
