"The show is lightweight and escapist stuff, but it has moments of thoughtfulness as well as fun. It's a fine part for Opel, who brings to this star turn all of the comic talents she's sharpened."
Stage Buddy
The modern dating scene with all its painful and hilarious foibles comes to brilliant life in this Off-Broadway comedy musical, transferring from the George Street Playhouse down the street. Slated for an open run, the show welcomes back the Tony-nomated Nancy Opel in the lead role! Recently seen in the hilariously dark musical The Toxic Avenger, Opel once again calls on her considerable comedy skills to play the role of a vivacious 50-something widow, who is thrown into the heady world of social media, sex and swiping right.
Keen to explore new concepts of love and sex, Curvy throws herself into the modern dating scene with gusto; from considering internet personals, surviving disastrous first dates and even weighing up the risks and benefits of dating both married and single men! What follows is a rip-roaring romp that tests even Curvy's patience and good humor, but discovering new truths about herself along the way!
