Zaz Performs Her New Album Effet Miroir
Hailed as a modern day Edith Piaf, French pop songstress Zaz first introduced the world to her heady blend of gypsy jazz, soul and acoustic folk with the release of breakout hit 'Je Veux' in 2010. Timed to celebrate the November 2018 release of her brand new album Effet Miroir (Mirror Effect), the iconic performer brings her South American and chanson-tinged new material to North American shores in early 2019.
Not only calling to mind Piaf, but the likes of Ella Fitzgerald and Yves Montand, Zaz's smoky vocals strike an interesting balance between husky and smooth, bouncing over playfully pronounced syllables with lightness and ease. Evoking the nostalgia of a time when men and women floated on the dance floor to the strains of toms and brass, songs like 'Le Long de la Route' and 'Prends Garde a Ta Langue' are steeped in a sense of French romance and charm that is mirrored by the talented performer when she steps out onto the stage. An album of hope in troubled timed, Effet Miroir's upbeat anthems are sure to get toes tapping, hands applauding and audiences moving.
