A Brand-new musical with a brand new name!
Formerly Gotta Dance, Half Time is a brand-spanking new Broadway musical will leap its way into town for a limited time only! Having gained a pre-Broadway run in Chicago during December, this spirited journey into emotion using song and dance is headed to the Great White Way. In a story that echoes A Chorus Line, we see ten determined dreamers who audition to dance at half time for a major basketball team. But there is something special about this particular troupe....
Desperate to achieve fame and glory, a troupe of 10 dancers audition to dance at a basketball half-term show in the big leagues. However, there are a few things these guys have in common - they are all aged 60 and above! Used to dancing salsa, tango and ballroom, it comes as a huge shock to discover that they will be required to learn hip hop!
Written by A Chorus Line composer Marvin Hamlisch before his death in 2012, the score was completed by Martin Sklar (Elf) and boasts a book by Chad Beguelin (Aladdin) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone). The Tony Award winning director of Kinky Boots, Jerry Mitchell will be helming this new production!
Veteran stars take center stage!
With such an illustrious talent behind the scenes it only makes sense that they up the ante with the cream of veteran acting talent - welcome Lillias White, Stephanie Powers and Andre De Shields to the lead roles!
