Stone was part of the vanguard of Nineties' female R&B singers along with Mary J Blige, Toni Braxton and Lauryn Hill. Part of the neo-soul movement, Stone first came to prominence at the tender age of 16, as part of the late Seventies' female hip hop group The Sequence, widely recognised today as the first of its kind. Despite a rocky start to 2015, Stone will be touring the States at small, intimate venues that showcase her powerhouse range perfectly.

As a member of Floetry, Marsha Ambrosius produced some of the most distinct neo-soul around, melding spoken word poetry and sleek r&b into an intoxicating mix. Though hailing from London, the group easily cracked America, and the likes of Mos Def and Common lined up to guest star on their records.
