World premire from Dear Evan Hansen writer Steven Levenson
Dear Evan Hansen scribe Steven Levenson follows up his Tony-winning YA phenomenon with this brand new play focussing on a group of 20 somethings in 1969 with revolution on their minds. Not able to recognize themselves in the world around them, they retreat to a house in Upstate New York where they plan to shun society, capitalism and monogamy with youthful hubris. But when this idyll is confronted by a mysterious stranger, the group begins to burst at the seams, idealism weakening in the face of reality.
A hotbed of activism, the late 1969's is a ripe time to mine, with many groups fighting for social justice against the backdrop of the hippie Summer of Love and more. Discover what Levenson makes of the period with this world premiere this fall.
