The Machine

The Machine at Park Avenue Armory

Why see The Machine?

The Machine is a new play by Matt Charman presented by the Donmar Warehouse. Set in the late 1990s, the play tells the story of a chess match between Garry Kasparov, the world's greatest chess player, and a super computer funded by IBM.

Directed by Josie Rourke, the production will be presented in a unique arena layout, designed especially for the play. With both players risking their reputation and genius, can a human mind outplay a machine?
