A glittering retelling of the story of Television Evangelist superstar Tammy Faye and her husband Jim Bakker, the show is penned by top playwright James Graham, directed by Rupert Goould, with lyrics from the Scissors Scissors and music by a man as glamourous as Tammy herself, Sir Elton John.

Tammy Faye
Known for her oddball style, over-lacquered looks, and innate kindness, Tammy Faye and her husband Jim Bakker built a veritable tele-evangelist empire following their first tv show, The PTL Club, which debuted in 1974. A heady mix of worship, puppetry and songs, punctuated by donation requests. Tammy's compassionate approach to victims of the AIDS/HIV pandemic during the 1980s brought her to wider public notice and cemented her as an LGBTQ ally, which bucked the trend of most Christian television hosts.
