It's 1598 in Moscow, and Boris Godunov is reluctantly crowned Tsar of Russia. Unbeknownst to him, forces plot from afar to overthrow him and claim the throne for themselves. This is one of the most well-known Russian operas - a key piece of Russian history and a riveting homage to its people's determination and strength.
