As a mix between spoken word and Hip Hop theater, Agnus is also a political drama with futuristic themes. The play is about the media culture of modern life and life in the future and features themes including corporate media, new technology, prison and politics.

Activist and spoken word artist Ise Lyfe is one of the writers and is well known for launching his career through the 2001 National Poetry Slam Competition where he performed his piece led 'Popular Dirt' where he spoke about Institutional racism and the negativity of Hip Hop on HBO.

The other half of the writing duo is Oakland native Matt Werner who is a technical writer at Google and specializes in music and culture, while also writing about the local history and race relations in Oakland. Agnus brings something unique to the theater and entertains audience while encouraging them to think about society.
