The Counter

Coming Fall 2024

This stunningly introspective play is part of the new Roundabout season!

Why See The Counter?

Plays

COMING FALL 2024

Full of introspection and a sense of more than meets the eye, The Counter is Megan Kennedy's eagerly anticipated follow-up to critically acclaimed works such as Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, and Napoli Brooklyn. Her latest Roundabout commission contains her signature wit and insight and is a look into the transformative power of everyday, seemingly mundane encounters. Tony Award winner David Cromer, known for his work on The Band's Visit, directs this eye-opening production.

About The Counter

In a quaint diner nestled in a small town, a waitress dutifully replenishes a customer's coffee each morning, leading to an unexpected bond forming between them. As their friendship blossoms, an unusual request from the customer reveals hidden truths, unravelling both of their mysteries and forming a story that demonstrates how ordinary interactions hold the power to profoundly impact our lives.
