A Brand New Revival Of The Pulitzer Prize-Winning Drama
The Young Man from Atlanta first premiered as an Off-Broadway Signature Theatre production in 1995, garnering much critical acclaim, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, for its searing portrayal of familial ties and the delicacies of grief. Twenty-four years later, the sorrowful satire returns to the Signautre Theatre once more in a brand new revival featuring stage and screen veteran Aidan Quinn.
Set in Houston Texas in the Spring of 1950, the story explores the dark side of the American Dream, with distinct echoes of Arthur Miller's Death Of A Salesman. Quinn portrays 64 year old Will Kidder, a man who has dedicated his life to his job at the local Sunshine Southern Wholesale Grocery store to provide for his family. But when his son dies under mysterious circumstances, the life he has so carefully worked towards begins to unravel.
