Why See New York City Ballet: All Balanchine II?
Classics from the neo-classical master
With access to the back catalogue of the master choreographer, New York City Ballet have the envious pleasure of being able to present the works of their founding member often and with reverence and love. For this program they lend their prodigious talents to the Big and Bold of Balanchine. The cast, which boasts over 50 dancers, will transport you to two distinct atmospheres.
Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet: an abstract and romantic piece of work, designed to take center stage. The Austro-Hungarian-inflected piece of choreography ends with an intoxication finale.
Tchaikovsky Suite No. 3: a radiant piece of choreography. Opening with romance, and ending with a majestic finale.
Opening night: 15 May 2019
