Why See Holiday Doo-Wop Celebration?
Give The Gift Of Doo-Wop This Christmas
Swing into the holidays with Count Baisie Theater's Holiday Doo-Wop concert! The annual event is the highlight of the historic venue's festive calendar, bringing together the likes of Charlie Thomas' Drifters, The Legendary Teenagers, LA LA Brooks, Kid Kyle, Larry Change & The Earls, Cleveland Still & The Dubs, and guest stars The Vogues. Emceed by 'Sirius Radio 50's on 5' host Cool Bobby, this special one-night-only event is sure to take you on a nostalgia-filled trip back in time to the golden age of blue-eyed soul, a capella and R&B!
Lead by iconic performer Charlie Thomas, The Drifters scaled the top of the charts with hits like 'Under The Boardwalk, 'Money Honey' and 'Such A Night' during the 50s, 60s and early 70s. Vocal Group Hall Of Fame inductees The Vogues took a more rock and roll approach to things, blending their doo-wop with jangly guitars in smash hit singles 'You're The One', "Magic Town' and 'Turn Around, Look At Me'. Performing originals and other popular songs from their heyday, these veteran performers know a thing or two when it comes to pulling off a mesmerising show - expect jazzy suits, dazzling harmonies and charisma in spades!
