Zoe Kazan returns with a brand-new drama!
The eminently talented playwright Zoe Kazan is back Off-Broadway this October, with a brand-new drama that tackles the aftermath of a human-made disaster. A timely piece of work that follows America's announcment that they will withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord, it will premiere at the Claire Tow Theatre for a limited time only. Kazan's previous works include Absalom, We Live Here, and Trudy and Max in Love. Her new drama will be directed by Lila Neugebauer (The Antipodes, The Wolves).
A warning for the future
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the surviving population have retreated underground to escape the radiation; but they are facing a crisis. The birth rate has to be controlled due to lack of resources. The focus of the drama is on a couple. Anna and Oliver, who are desperate for a child, but have only one more chance to make it happen. One of New York's most acclaimed young actors, Zoe Kazan has made the successful transition to playwright, making her debut in 2011 with the MTC-commissioned play We Live Here; an incisive and beautifully rendered portrait of a contemporary family coming together through grief and celebration.
