The dynamic musical pairing returns to Carnegie Hall
The Yuja Wang Perspectives Series continues with an explosive collaboration between the Chinese ivory-tickling superstar and multiple award-winning Greek violin virtuoso Leonidas Kavakos. The dynamic pairing of these phenomenal instrumentalists has proven a winning combination in a past performances at NYC's Carnegie Hall and London's Wigmore Hall as well as collaborations for their Decca recordings of Brahms Violin Sonatas.
Wang's fiery, passionate playing finds its match in Kavakos' introspective, poetic performance style, a fire and ice combination that finds perfect balance in tonal color, impeccable accuracy and a far-reaching emotional range. A musical partnership made in heaven, the rapport between the two musos journeys from the playful, empathetic and subtle to the downright rhapsodic. Past performances together have included the works of Brahms, Schumann, Stravinksy, Janacek and Ravel.
